✢ Yoga TTC in Rishikesh, India | FAQ's ✢

What is a Yoga Teacher Training Course?

Yoga Teacher Training course is a comprehensive program designed to train individuals who wish to become certified Yoga Teachers. This course provides holistic training that includes anatomy, alignment, philosophy, pranayama, meditation.

What is Yoga Alliance?

Yoga Alliance is a non-profit organization that sets standards for yoga teacher training programs and registers yoga teachers who meet those standards. Their aim is to maintain the integrity and professionalism of the yoga industry while promoting safe and effective yoga practices. Kamal Yoga School is registered under Yoga Alliance and follows the curriculum designed by them to maintain the consistency of teaching.

What is the difference between Registered Yoga teachers and normal Yoga teachers?

The terms “Registered Yoga Teacher” (RYT) and “normal Yoga teacher” do not necessarily denote a fundamental difference in terms of teaching yoga. However, the term “RYT” is typically used to refer to instructors who have completed a specific certification program and have registered with Yoga Alliance, a professional organization that sets standards for yoga teacher training.

Here are some key points to understand the difference:

  1. Yoga Alliance Registration: Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) is a designation offered by Yoga Alliance, an internationally recognized organization in the field of yoga. Yoga teachers can voluntarily choose to register with Yoga Alliance by completing a training program that meets the organization’s standards and guidelines.

  2. Training Standards: Yoga Alliance has established certain requirements for teacher training programs, including a minimum number of training hours, specific content areas to be covered, and experienced faculty members. RYT programs typically adhere to these standards to ensure a certain level of quality and consistency.

  3. Continuing Education: RYTs are also required to complete continuing education hours to maintain their registration. This helps instructors stay updated with the latest developments in the field and deepen their knowledge and teaching skills.

  4. Perceived Credibility: Some students may view RYT designation as an indication that the teacher has met certain standards and undergone a recognized training program. It can provide a level of assurance about the teacher’s qualifications and expertise, although it’s important to note that there are excellent yoga teachers who choose not to register with Yoga Alliance.

It’s important to remember that being a registered yoga teacher doesn’t automatically make someone a better or more skilled teacher than someone who isn’t registered. The quality of a yoga teacher depends on various factors, including their experience, teaching style, ability to connect with students, and ongoing dedication to personal growth and development.

Ultimately, whether you choose a registered yoga teacher or a non-registered yoga teacher, it’s crucial to assess their qualifications, experience, teaching style, and alignment with your personal goals and preferences to find the right instructor for you.

What are the courses offered by Registered Yoga School?

Registered Yoga Schools (RYS) offer various courses related to yoga teacher training, continuing education, and specialized yoga programs. Kamal Yoga School offers foundational 200-hour courses for aspiring yoga teachers, advanced 300-500 hour courses for experienced teachers, and specialized courses in areas such as prenatal yoga.
